KPMG Principals Stephen Tackney (“IRS Speaks” panelist from National NASPP conference) and Parmjit Sandhu, Global Compensation, will speak on the practical challenges in delivering Restricted Stock Units (RSU) awards and meeting federal and state payroll deadlines whilst also managing global processing of compensation with stock plan administrators.
Stephen brings his perspective of the intention behind the regulations having authored the Generic Legal Advice Memorandum (GLAM) dated May 18, 2020 (AM 2020-004) which helped address some of these issues. Post the T+1 changes to the SEC settlement cycle, the GLAM has become more relevant particularly in relation to the compliance with the U.S. next day deposit rules.
In addition, an update from D.C. inside the loop should offer some interesting banter from these two subject matter specialists and their experience in dealing with corporate issuers, global delivery of RSU plans and the technical versus practical considerations for corporate issuers to consider.
