This session will cover recent new tax developments and trends in global equity compensation.


Speaker Bio:

Aimee Soodan, Baker McKenzie


Aimee Soodan is a partner in Baker McKenzie's Employment & Compensation group. Aimee has over 20 years of experience in all areas of compensation and benefits with a concentration in US and international equity compensation. She regularly advises large multinational employers with respect to the global extension of their equity compensation programs, including the design, implementation, administration and ongoing tax and regulatory compliance of such programs. Aimee also designs, drafts and conducts US and international legal reviews of long-term incentive and employee stock purchase programs, nonqualified deferred compensation programs, equity reimbursement agreements and change in control agreements. In addition, she counsels clients on the impact of mergers, reorganizations, spin-offs and other complex corporate transactions in relation to their equity compensation arrangements. Aimee serves on the National Association of Stock Plan Professionals’ Executive Advisory Committee, the Global Equity Organization's Partner Alliance Council, and served as the Director of the Global Equity Organization's US Midwest Chapter for over 10 years. She also was an adjunct professor at the Center for Tax Law & Employee Benefits at the University of Illinois Chicago School of Law, teaching a course on international employee benefits.
